Pipeline, er Shower… OR, Turning Water into Air

Ok, so Lily is an inventor now.  She’s also a scientist.  Reader? Well, if it suits her, yeah… but don’t try to get her to read something you want her to.  AND DON’T let her know you know she read something after the fact… way uncool.
She’s picked up some new comebacks and comments of late that have me rolling, but also have me becoming quite aware of her development socially and emotionally.  She’s communicating things now in a way that doesn’t leave much question as to what she’s thinking. Grace and refinement aside, she is definitely articulating well, and she’s discovered sarcasm.
On another note, she’s decided to commandeer my copper pipes (the ones for the new heating zone) for a new invention.  I was concerned about pinhole leaks… now the pipes have been on the concrete for the last three days.  The pictures tell the story, and her video explanation fills in the gaps.
She’s spent a total of probably three hours on this thing, independently.  And tonight she brought me the ingredients we used for a science experiment last week (alcohol, water, baking soda) and said, “Let’s do another experiment. I have the ingredients right here.”
I, of course, blew it royally and told her no, not at the moment she was totally excited and interested in doing it.  I was busy, tired, whatever. So, I will try to solve my stupidity tomorrow, but I suspect she will shove my efforts back at me where they belong, but maybe she will graciously humor me.   I suck at this.  I hate that I have this house to have in my way of being able to go with her interests and curiosity when it hits.   I’ve actually contemplated getting an apartment just so I can have something set up and available for her, then come back to the house when it’s convenient or she knows it’s work time.
I suppose moving her out of her home isn’t the best option, but I’m about to break here.
