We spent last week in Los Alamos, NM while Russ worked on a few sites, and spent half his time in Taos. We explored the city via their Atomic City Transit system, which is absolutely lovely. We rode the circuit around town, then out to White Rock, then back and continued on foot.
We visited the Bradbury Science Museum, various parks, and planned to visit Bandelier as well as the Lab, but she decided she was just too tired, so we just rode around the final day instead.
We explored the library in Los Alamos, the Pond (Ashely Pond), and were fortunate to catch a local farmers market. The people left quite an impression on Lily, commenting multiple times as to how considerate and kind everyone seemed to be. It is somewhat uncommon for adults to regard Lily as an equal, as in most settings she’s somewhat coddled as a “cute kid” and nothing further, but in Los Alamos, perhaps due to the mentality there or the high level of education the general population seems to hold, she was treated as an intelligent, equally contributing member of the city.
