Mummie Me – Discovering

Ok, well, THAT is what she focused on, as the pyramids were not nearly as cool, until she found out just how tall even the smallest of the pyramids actually are. Thank you Google Earth.
We are watching an animated series for Halloween, “Casper’s Scare School”. She has once again identified, or chosen to pay the most attention to the antagonist (LPS, MLP, etc., same story). This time, it’s Thatch.

She likes his colors, his cape, and the fact that he can fly, I think. He’s a poop head though.
There is another character in this show, Ra, who inspired our trail of exploration tonight, concerning mummies, tombs, pyramids, and Eqypt culture. I love how her curiosity is so free and we are at liberty to run with it. 🙂
Here’s what we learned:

There are more pyramids than either of us had any idea existed in Egypt. There are pyramids in other parts of the world too.
The Sphinx is like 66′ tall… That’s three of our houses, at their highest peak (which, by the way, she and I have stood upon together, overlooking our entire neighborhood, so she gets the magnitude of the height).
The Sphinx is tiny by comparison with even the mid-sized pyramids.
They wear pink suit suits in Egypt
They also wear beautiful headscarves
The Whirling Dervish is Egyptian?
The Red Sea isn’t.
That Luxor isn’t just the name of a black glass building in Vegas
We learned a little about Mt Sinai
Mt Sinai was not and is not associated with volcanoes
