In keeping with Eep, we worked on our own cave paintings today.
We learned about the El Castillo cave drawings, and how it is believed to be the oldest known example, dating some 40,000 years. This would be caveman era, and the symbols were of hands and sun.
We learned how the pigments were created from various minerals, and how the paint was then applied, along with a binding agent. Lily learned what a binding agent is, as well as the various minerals (in rock and pulverized form). We used her airbrush today tomorrow maybe we’ll grind up some rocks.
