Modding is Hotdogs

Meet the Emotionutties

Today, we started using Code Studio… Minecraft was our first project. This is her initial intro to Blockly.

This is what the blocks of code look like when shown in text. IMG_20160315_115016

My mom types faster so she’s going to type what I say to write.

I made a dinner plate with Khan’s code editor and then I made a breakfast plate for my little brother. It was a blue plate with orange juice and a chocolate chip muffin. My dinner plate was a plate with leaves and chicken on it. I even put a bone on the chicken. Anywho, about the Minecraft coding, I’m really excited because I love the little Candy Monster (if you know who I’m talking about, comment below). I’m going to make a mod with him in it for Minecraft. He’s lime green… that type of candy monster. All he does is search for candy. Do you know who I’m talking about? I’ll give it away at the end of this message.
Today, I used Blockly, instead of just type, type, type. It’s hard but it’s really fun. It’s meant for kids about 14 but I get it. And, for the second time, or however many times I’ve said it, you should go check out my turtle’s blog. http://xoomxoom-fashionturtle.cecilynixon.com/
Though I may have entered the phase of wearing the same clothes every day, cuz I have, I am excited about not doing the same things every day. In other words, I use different kinds programs and editors for learning to code programs. The day I am posting this is the day the wind is whistling nonstop. At Tynker today, I coded a music video for Monster High girls, with Blockly, which was the first time I’ve used Blockly instead of just typing in code.
I love the new movie that has come out, Hotel Transylvania 2. It’s really awesome! So is Inside Out… I have a Make Your Own Thinking Putty Kit and I made emotion putty(ies) yesterday. I made sparkling, shimmering, glowing Joy. She is yellow. I also made sparkling and glowing Anger, he’s red. Then there’s sparkling, glowing, very white instead of purpley Fear, and his favorite part about going on a long car trip is “wearing a seatbelt”. AND THEN, there’s Disgust; she basically keeps people from getting poisoned, physically and socially. Finally, there’s Sadness. Sadness is kind of dark purpley, bluish, sparkling and glowing, and she’s just pretty.
I have the containers the putty came in that sort of seem like Headquarters for the emotions. I’m using the lids as pie pans. They’re about the right height and they look like fairy sized pies. I make the pies by pressing a round ball of putty in until it looks like a perfectly little curved pie. Some of the emotions just have too much in them, so I make those like a really, really high pie. Sadly, I have not tasted them, but glad because they have stuff that keeps them from never drying out. If you have this kit, hacheww…, delete that… no it’s funny… then please do not eat any of the putty.
I recommend making any of the following putty sets: Hotel Transylvania I or II, Inside Out, Frozen, or the Croods, or Star Wars if you’re into it. But again, you can make them however you want, I’m just recommending these because they’re super cool.

Check out my “Emotionputty” post for my other videos and an explanation of why I care about the Emotions and their pies.

  1. Gesundheit!
It’s exciting that you find coding stuff so fun. It’ll get really fun once you master the skill of typing! Then your fingers will just ‘know’ what to type.
Thanks for letting me play with the Emotion Putties last night. They’re just like the characters in Inside Out, only more gooey. 🙂
