Cecily loves Jane and the Dragon. She thinks she needs a dragon and she’s convinced she’s Squire Jane. She is now calling Russ, in a Old English-New Australian accent, “Gunther”… I however, as of yet do not have a name. Well, I do, I’m Nudah (Star Trek) and then Russ is Dayduh, but that requires us to skip ahead about a millenia.
Anyway, Lily has stepped into the role wholeheartedly and we’re having a blast.
I love Jane & the Dragon too. Though I must admit I do not hear the Aussie accent. And I do not identify myself with any character!
This is a well done animation series. And I guess it teaches only positive things–the kind of thing you want to teach yuor daughter.
The series is very well done, and intelligent to boot! I would agree. The focus of the majority of the plots consists of searching within oneself to resolve whatever is necessary. It often brings in the value of working as a team, being reliable, and choosing integrity and responsibility over blame and cowardice. It deals with courage, confidence, and it also manages a great balance of discussing how to not be too serious with yourself or others, and appreciation of nature and simple pleasures.
All in all, we love the show and have the DVR set to grab all the episodes. We have a couple of the dvd’s too… it was a fav even well before we ever became pregnant. And the best part now is the Lily sings the intro song! With but a few alterations, she sings it as it’s written, and her alterations make it all the more fun to behold.
