Lils has recently decided she can sew and be like her grandma… she says she’s an awesome sewer. I reply that she is quite the seamstress. She responds, “Huh? Nope, I’m a sewer like my grandma.” Ok. ___________________________ So far, I haven’t managed to capture a pic of anything she’s created except this dress (er, […]

:)))))))))))))))))))) ———- Forwarded message ———- From: Russ Nixon <russ.nixon@gmail.com> Date: Thu, Feb 28, 2013 at 9:02 AM Subject: This is too good! (in my drafts) To: Angeline Nixon <thecleverwind@gmail.com> HI FEREES I LOST MYTOOTH FROM MERIDA THE PRINSSSESS
"Those are musics, they sound like this…."
She decided to make a camera the other day. She harvested the Discovery Kids Tornado box, chopped and sawed, taped and glued, and ended up with a box that looks like the camera that Shawn (of the Shawn the Sheep) uses (90’s style video). She then decided to mount it, offering the explanation that she […]
BRAVE fille
Lily is sometimes Merida, sometimes Elinor as a bear, and today, she’s a little and nice version of Mor’du. She’s beginning to memorize the movie in French.. We ordered a How to Draw Brave Characters book, which has been in constant use since its arrival. First, she now knows what a character is… Second, she […]
About Lily's Thoughts…
From Cecily (papa tying her words) Russ Nixon <russ.nixon@gmail.com> 12/31/12 I have lots of magic words in my brain. I just love fairies. Every time I see a fairy, my heart grows bigger. Every time I see a new fairy, my heart grows bigger. Because I love fairies. Fairies are so cool. They are crazy boogers. […]
Fairy Correspondence
Lils has decided to continue her communications via email with the fairies… and she’s added Merida. I think Lily combines Merida (Brave) and her archery, brilliance, determination and fire with the fairies and their spirit and talent. Periwinkle went missing around Thanksgiving. Fairies depart and return at will around here, and we’re still never certain […]
That Snake Lives in Australia
We opened the Wildlife Journey binder today to the first animal displayed. which happened to be a Green Tree Python. Lily worked through Green and Tree just fine, and we learned Python together. Then, I waited while she reviewed the page. Within a few seconds, she pointed to the map that has the country of […]
Pipeline, er Shower… OR, Turning Water into Air
Ok, so Lily is an inventor now. She’s also a scientist. Reader? Well, if it suits her, yeah… but don’t try to get her to read something you want her to. AND DON’T let her know you know she read something after the fact… way uncool. She’s picked up some new comebacks and comments of […]
Esophageal Rescue
His esophagus is stuck… with stuff in it!!! “Mom! Come quick! We have an sink esophagus rescue on our hands!” She’s found the plunger, convinced her father to offer some muscle, and now she’s cleaning up the aftermath. I love it.
Would you hold my tornado for a moment?
The fairies have come, lived, explored, and well…. she didn’t find any live ones. We will go to the midwest this summer at some point and find some fireflies. She takes it personally that fairyfolk don’t trust her and her benevolent intentions sufficiently to show themselves. My heart hurts.
