See You Next Year

Lily is more willing to read out loud now than she has been before. Her voice often doesn’t exude enthusiasm or confidence, but she does infuse her reading with feeling and expression.
Lily read this book to me today. I picked it up last time we were in Denver, thinking it might be relevant, and indeed it is quite. Within a few years, I suspect with all our travels across the US, Canada, and Mexico, we will narrow down at least a portion of our annual vacationing to returning to the same place, year after year. Russ and I both value this sort of tradition; we journey to his family’s camping spot each summer to celebrate for this reason. I crave the ocean however, and expect that at some near point in the future, we will add to the traditional ‘summering’ (which, for us can be any time of year) in a location that includes tides and friends that return each
